TPO-4

The reading and the lecture are both about whether the dinasaurs were endotherms or not. The author believes that dinosaurs were enotherms, and he supports his argues by three reasons. The lecturer cousts doubt on the claims made in the article. She refutes the reasons which is given by the author.

First of all, the author points out that the place which dinosaur fossils have bben discovered is Polar Regions which are very cold. That means only the animals that can sustain a temerature could be active to live at those regions. This point is challenged by the lecturer. She says in that period of time the weather was warm enough in those regions.

Secondly, The author condents that by mentioning the connection between endothermy and the posion and movement of the legs. It is mentioned that the legs that endothermy has allows for hit to maintains physical activvity such tuninng, however this can be for animal’s legs which are positioned inderneath its body, not in the side of the body. On the other hand, the lecturer rebuts this argument. She suggests the postion of the legs not necessary mean something like the reading says. She elaborats that by saying that the poistion of legs might help them to grow faster.
