In the set of the materials, the article states that Humpback whales use stars as a navigator when they migrate. In the lecture, the professor explains that this is a fascinating idea but it's not convincing one and refutes each of the author's reasons.

First, the reading claims that because Humpback whales are intelligent enough, they can use stars for navigating during their migrations. However, the professor argues that being intelligent doesn't any relationship with using the stars. According to the professor, a lo of birds uses stars to navigate their migration but their intelligence are medium. Therefore, intelligent doesn't good reason for using stars for navigation.

Second, the reading passage says that since Humpback whales migrate in straight lines, they use stars to orient themselves. The professor counters this claim by stating that this animal have a bio magnetite in their brain that let them to sense the earth magnetic and use it for their orientation. Thus, this specific whales don’t use stars when they migrate.

Third, the reading make the argumentation that Humpback whales sometimes shows spy-hopping that means that they are looking at the stars. The professor refutes this idea by pointing out that shark has this behavior too, but it don't migrate and it use spy-hopping for haunting. Furthermore, this whales show spy-hopping during the day when the stars are not visible. Hence, this can't be understand from Humpback whales' spy-hopping that they searching the stars.

To summarize, in this reading, the author states that Humpback whales orient their migration path by using star’s position. The professor disagrees with this point and gives three pieces of evidence to show that it’s a fallacy to think that these animals uses stars to navigate.
