The article and the lecture both are argued about the humpback whales migration. The article states that even though there are several confusions about their migration, this particular whales having solutions and provide three reasons to support. However, the professor explained that although it is fascinating they are not convincing and he refutes the each of the author's opinion.
First, the article avers that kind of mammils are experts in the navigation with the help of starts because their brain having a complex structure. The professor opposes this point by saying this kind of the cognitive effect of the brain is common in the animals. He illustrated with the dog as an example, it is the common instinct and no particular connection to help in the moving from one place to another place.
Second, the passage climes that they move in a straight line because of the external objects like stars at night time. The professor contended this point by saying most of the animals are able to to do this and is not unique in whales. He explained that the animals having a biomagnetic property in their body is connected to the external earth magnetic to move forward.
Third, the passage posits that humpback is able to find the direction by moving to the surface of the water and put the head out of the water. The professor cast a doubt on this point by saying nothing to do with this sky hope. he mentioned that sharks are able to do for searching for the pray but this process is not possible in the whale migrations because they migrate in the morning time and they couldn't see any stars at the daytime.
