The diagrams below show the stages and equipment used in the cement-making process, and how cement is used to produce concrete for building purposes. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The two diagrams describe the processes by which cement and concrete are made.
Looking at the first process, the initial materials including limestone and clay are processed by a crusher to transform them into powder. After that, this powder goes through a mixer where the components are properly mixed and transferred to the next stage, in which the ingredients will be rotated under a high temperature. Following this is the grinding process, and now cement is completely made and ready to be packed in bags for further use.
The next process show how cement from the first one can be used to produce concrete. Cement and other necessary materials such as water, sand and gravel are carefully prepared with exact proportions, at 15, 10, 25 and 50 percent respectively. Then all of these are put into a concrete mixer to create concrete for building purposes.
