During a recent plane journey, you sat next to a businessman who owns a chain of restaurants. You talked to him and he suggested that you should contact him about a possible job in one of his restaurants.
Write a letter to this businessman. In your letter
* remind him when and where you met
* tell him what kind of job you are interested in
* say why you think you would be suitable for the job
Write at least 150 words.
Dear Mr. Johnson,
I am Deepti and I am from Mumbai. I am not sure whether you remember me, but let me remind you. We had met on a plane last month from Dubai to Mumbai on the 23rd. I almost spilled coffee on you and that is when we started talking. I should admit that I was very impressed by your 'down to earth' attitude and professional talent as a successful businessman who owns a chain of restaurants.
During our conversation, you had mentioned about a possible job opportunity as an accountant in one of your restaurants. It would be great, if you could provide me with some more details about the same. I am currently working as a receptionist in an Italian restaurant here in Mumbai. But most often, I help out our manager with the restaurant’s accounts.
Would you kindly consider me for this job and give me an opportunity for an interview? Let me explain why I think I am fit for this job. I am a bachelor of commerce graduate with Accounts & Finance as my majors. My academic performance is good too. Due to some financial problems, I had to take the first job that I was offered. But, I am very good at accounts and I would like to pursue it as my career. If required, I can provide you with a recommendation letter from my current manager.
Thank you for your consideration.
Thanks,
Deepti
