The chart and table compare and contrast data on the changes in the population figures in Japan. Overall, as can be seen from the chart, starting from 1950 until 2010 there was a growing trend whereas a significant decline in population is predicted by 2055.
First of all, after having looked at the graph, it should be acknowledged that during the given period of time the maximum of population was observed in 2005 (127.8 million) while 1950 saw the minor quantity of individuals (84.1 million). The rising tendency in the quantity of individuals until 2010 was followed by drastic decline and by 2055 the number of people in Japan is expected to be equal to 85.9 million.
In addition to this, in 1950 the percentage of those who were over 65s made up only 4.9% (4.1 million) which was the lowest one in comparison with other years. By 2035 the situation is probably going to significantly alter. 2035 will represent the major percentage of those who will be over 65s (34%).
