The chart below shows the amount spent on six consumer goods in four European countries.

Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.

The bar chart compares people’s spending on six consumer products in four European countries. It shows British spent more on all six aspects than the citizens in other three countries did. And the highest three that British cost are on purchasing photographic films, toys and CDs.

In the chart, it shows English spent 155 thousand pound sterling for buying personal stereos and the same amount for tennis racquets. French and German paid around 147 thousand for stereos and Italians just paid a few thousand more. It seems the photographic films and toys are most popular things in British whose citizens spent the highest amount of money on them. These amounts stood at 170 and 167 thousand pounds. French people spent 5-6 thousand less on these two items but the number was higher than the figure for other two countries.

In tennis bats, Italians spent the same amount as English did, and it was more than the amount spent by Germans and French. Spending on CDs by English was slightly lower than that of toys, which was 165 thousand. The Germans spent the least amount on this product. On perfumes, the British people spent 160 thousand and the Italian, German and French was 155, 150 and 146 respectively.
