The first chart below shows the results of a survey which sampled a cross-section of 100,000 people asking if they traveled abroad and why they traveled for the period 1994-98. The second chart shows their destinations over the same period.

The tabular chart and bar graph depict about the reason for travelling in abroad by UK people in a survey made in Western Europe, North America and Other areas respectively, from 1994 to 1998.

Overall, the reasons were holiday, business, visits to friends and relatives, other reasons wherein holiday was dominant while other reasons were least.

It is explicit from tabular chart, holiday accounted 15246 in 1994 with gradual increment until 1998 where it was 20700. Furthermore, Business covered almost similar number for UK people who was ranging from 3155 to 3957 over the years. Moreover, Visit to friends and relatives occupied highest in the year 1998 where it was 3181 followed by 2628 in 1995 where it was lower as compare to other years. However, other reasons were significant in 1996 and 1997 with 1030, 1054 respectively.

It is evident from graph, western Europe was the most preferred destination which was around 25000 as compared to North America and other areas which were under 5000 thus, lowest among all.

As data indicates, there is a trend of gradual surge in both table and graph.
