The line graph indicates the information of people’s complaints toward four kinds of noise resources from the year 1980 to 1996 in Newtown. A remarkable change shown that the number of complaints toward household noise decreased from the top in 1980 to the lowest in 1996, while sound came from road works had raised into top in 1980.

From the graph, it shown in 1980 the domestic noise was complained most by people in Newtown. Followed by it was Road works and factories which the Environmental Health authorities received 500 and 400 complaints respectively. The traffic noise was complained lowest by people in 1980. The number of complaints in domestic noise decreased slightly with time went by and overcame by the figure for factories noise in 1982. It then overcame by road works and traffic noise in 1983 and 1989 respectively.

The complaints toward road works had leveled off in 500 from 1980 to 1984. And the number decreased to 400 in 1986 and then stayed in it for two years. But a sharp increase had been witnessed from 1988 to 1994 and it even overcame the figure for factories noise in 1990 which made the road works became the highest one received complaints.
