Overall, it is clearly seen that the costs of all categories rose considerably. In addition, only prices on fresh fruits and vegetables increased more than consumer-price index.
At the beginning of the reported period, people should have spent about 70 per cent of the base price on sugar and sweets, and carbonated drinks. Throughout the given time interval, their figures showed a similar trend of a moderate growth to 200 and 150 per cent, respectively.
Consumer-price index, provided as reference information, rose from approximately 70 per cent in 1979 to around 220 per cent in 2009, making its change larger than the increase of sweets and drinks. In contrast, Fresh fruits and vegetables prices grew faster than all others, reaching significantly more than 300 per cent, which is almost a twice bigger change in comparison to sugar and sweets.
