The map below is of the town of Garlsdon. A new supermarket (S) is planned for the town. The map shows two possible sites for the supermarket.
The map presents two potential positions for a new supermarket for the town of Garlsdon and the surrounding area. Overall, the main difference between the two sites is that S1 is outside the town, whereas S2 is in the town center.
The first site (S1) is located in the countryside, to the north-west of Garlsdon. It is close to the northern residential area and not far from the main road that links Hindon with Garlsdon. However, it would be difficult to reach from Bransdon and Cransdon.
By contrast, the second site (S2) is in the town center. It is near to the housing area, which surrounds the town center. It is also close to the main road that runs through Garlsdon from Hindo to Cransdon. S2 is 16 kilometres away from Bransdon and 25 kilometres away from Cransdon. However, because of no traffic zone in the town center, S2 would be no access by car.
