The pie charts illustrate electricity production units from fuel source in france and australia between 1980 and 2000. it can be seen from the pie charts that australia relied on coal whereas france relied on nuclear power.

In 1980, coal accounted for 50 percentage of units of electricity by fuel source while hydro power and natural gas produced 20 units each other and the number of units oil production stood at 10. 20 years later, the percentage of electricity production units from coal was 1.5 time higher than the figure in 1980, beside that hydro power produced 36 units. gas and the power of hydro productions were just total of 4 units.

In contrast, france used nuclear power when australia wasn’t. The units number of coal and natural gas were 25 units for each other when nuclear power and oil were not far behind with 15 for the power of nuclear units and 20 for the oil. In 2000, nuclear power became the main fuel source because it produced 126 units whilst coal and oil had 25 electricity units for each one. hydro power and natural gas almost disappear from the pie chart.
