The three pie charts illustrate data about the differences in yearly expenditure of a UK school over a twenty-year period, from 1981 to 2001.

Overall, teachers' salaries had always been the main contributing factor of total school spending, while little money was spent on insurance as they only took up under 10 percent. Another point that stands out from the graph is the other workers' salaries underwent a continuous decline over the period in question.

In 1981, four-tenths of the school's money was spent on paying for teachers, while that figure for other workers was lower, only at 28 percent. Resources such as books, together with furniture and equipment, only accounted for a small proportion of 15 percent each. Insurance had the least amount of money spent on it, with only 2 percent. Over the next twenty years, teachers' salaries saw some fluctuations and finally reached 45 percent of the total annual cost in 2001. Additionally, despite some changes, more budget was spent on insurance and furniture and equipment, at 8 and 23 percent respectively. As a result, money paid for other workers and resources was significantly reduced by nearly half.
