Write letter to a long time colleague that you will not be able to attend his/her good bye party

-Why you will not be able to attend

-How you enjoyed working with him/her

-How you will keep contact with him/her

Dear Mr. Smith,

I am truly sorry to inform you that I will not be able to attend your good bye party on Tuesday. Unfortunately, I have been invited to my sister-in-law wedding rehearsal dinner on the same day and my attendance is mandatory as you can guess.

Working with you was one of the best things that happened in my life and I enjoyed every hour that we spent together. You will definitely remain my favorite coworker that I had a pleasure of working with. You will be always remembered not only for your hard-working and responsible attitude in the office but also for your exceptional manner. You were a remarkable role model for me as you taught me how to keep my clam in face of a challenge and never settle down for mediocrity.

We will be in touch through different social media that we both participate in. You also have my phone number so do not hesitate to call me whenever you needed anything. I would be honored to be helpful in any way you see fit. I have created a group in Telegram and added you to the group so that we can arrange get-togethers more efficiently.

Best wishes,

Behnaz Yousefi
