You are due to move into a rented apartment next month but you will not be able to because you have some problems.

Write a letter to the landlord. In your letter

- explain your situation
- describe your problems
- tell him/her when you think you can move in

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to inform you that I will be unable to shift to the flat in accordance to my rental date next month.

I have rented from your company the two bedrooms apartment on North Road, and my contract states that the apartment
will be available next month to move into it. When I signed off the rental contract, I did not expect the current development which disturb my earlier planned arrangement of moving on the due date as per our contract agreement.

As you know, I work with an international company, and we have just signed a contract with an important client where in China, and I have been selected in the team who will travel to Beijing next month to negotiate the terms and conditions of the contract; therefore, I will be away from the city for long time and won`t be able to move as planned to the flat.

Reference to my trip schedule, I revised my plan to move into the apartment. The start date will be only after returning from China, and it will be approximately two months from now. I would request that you revise the contract dates as per the new plan, and that you inform me for any back charges of it.

I look forward to the contract being revised.

Yours faithfully,

Ayoub
