You have recently attended a job interview which went well, but you are still waiting for the decision. Write a letter to HR manager of the company and say:

1) Give details of the job

2) Why do you think the interview went well?

3) Why do you need to know the result?

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you to enquire about the outcome of the recent job interview held for the post of Assistant Professor – History at your university. Allow me to elaborate.

I had appeared for the interview for the aforementioned post. I was told that the job involves teaching students of the Bachelor Programme about World War 1 and 2 histories along with the events that transpired in that period.

However, I am confident of being offered the same role because there were only two candidates who had appeared for the interview. The interviewer had categorically stated to me while interviewing me that I am the candidate that they have been waiting for and that the interview is just a formality.

Furthermore, I also had the opportunity to appear for an interview at another college and was offered the position with a different role. I am waiting for the outcome of the interview to make up my mind.

I will be waiting for your reply.

Yours sincerely,

Brad Jason
