Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to you in response to your advertisement in Deccan Chronicle published on 14th July earlier this month, asking for volunteers to help with environmental projects. I would like to nominate myself for your Water Conservation project as I strongly feel that saving water is the first step towards fixing other global issues related warming and climatic change. I have been living in Bangalore since past 20 years and have seen first-hand how water problems have robbed this city of its luster.
I am a qualified environmentalist and have taken up similar projects, although not in such a large scale, at various villages surrounding Bangalore. I would like you help you build a good and reliable rain-water harvesting system very similar to my previous projects, that are running successfully with minimum intervention. I know a few people at the Municipal Corporation who would be willing to look at our plan and help us move it forward.
I would also like to suggest that we create awareness on this issue by seeking government support to sensitize public. Since this is not a project which can be done in isolation, we would need all the support we can get to make it a success. My contact numbers are enclosed in the annexure, along with the details of other projects I have worked on.
