I am writing to express my gratitude for the recent cookery course I have taken at your school. I hope this letter finds you in good health and great appetite!
Being the perfectionist that I am, I have always struggled with picking up cooking. You are always left wondering how much a "sensible amount" of dressing is, which pot is best used with which item... You get the idea. Though I agreed that cooking is a survival skill and not just an art that stimulates a fundamental human sense, but cooking had still evaded my reach, until I finally signed up for the course. The hands-on experience I have gained during the classes was exactly what I needed to overcome my overwhelming obsession over the technical details that keep me from cooking efficiently, if at all.
I was glad to finally practice cooking in professionally supervised settings, where the mutual basics of so many popular dishes were covered. I now have a general baseline of what to do whether it is stewing, steaming, frying (stir-fried or deep-fried), baking, or grilling, as all these methods were covered. A total of 40 hours in the kitchen were more than enough for a self-professed rookie like myself to undust that cookbook I had always kept and start putting it to the test.
Now as I have started exlporing more and more cuisines and become able to stick to healthy eating, I would love to join you again for a baking-focused course. You see, a lot of popular treats are deep fried and therefore contain much unhealthy fats, be it french fries, falafel, fried chicken, or fried shrimp. Baking would be a perfect alternative and will also allow learners to take up desserts.
