everyday similar tasks or different
Whether a challenging diverse work process is rewarding or tiring depends on the lens through which one is looking. While many people may prefer a job description of repetitive tasks to do during their workday, others might argue that a day full of different duties to fulfill is more desirable. I agree with the latter as I prefer to have lots of alternative tasks to go through during the day as my job routine. I will demonstrate my ideas as follows.
Firstly, I believe the path to personal and professional growth passes through overcoming immense challenges. One can easily master a single iterative task expected of them and perform them rather habitually without thinking. In contrast, having a various number of tasks through the day with different descriptions can engage an individual's brain and learning pathways more. Hence, adding an every day challege to the job. For instance, as I am a medical doctor, I prefer emergency medicine as my specialty over any other field, due to everyday challenges and various patients I will have to deal with. I strongly believe that a career that requires me to focus, learn, and update my capabilities everyday will contribute to my progress tremendously.
Secondly, the boredom that will rise as a result of working on similar tasks all day can eventually be the culprit of low performance rates and a decline in motivation. Where a job that presents individuals with new different opportunities to learn and progress everyday can be refreshing, a career involving overall similar tasks can push one towards exhaustion and discouragement. As an example, if I want to apply for a job at a school, I rather have the role of a teacher who gets to know and work with lots of students with various characteristics than a librarian whose job description is generally very uniform.
Finally, many people find themselves and their talents when they start working. There is always the chance to grow, learn, assess one's abilities when working on a wide spectrum of responsibilities. More diverse job descriptions present the individual with numerous chances to further analyze and change their path, if required, towards their goals. For example, a nurse working at a busy hospital with lots of duties may find out that they are most capable of human contact and empathy, and therefore, deciding to change their field to psychology.
In conclusion, as a challenging and refreshing job can lead to personal growth, career opportunity expansion, encouragement, motivation, and proper recognition of one's abilities, I prefer a job that entails different responsibilities every day.
