air pollution
Both the reading and the lecture discuss removing air pollution from the air. The reading states that different types of air purifiers and explain their benefits. However, the lecturer refutes that none of the methods is effective and reading passage is missing more information.
First of all, the reading passage states that HEPA filters are effective in removing dust and other particles, and they can absorb larger particles as well. This is because the filters are large enough and eco-friendly way. On the other side, the lecturer contrasts this idea by pointing out that smaller dust particles will affect our body and they are small enough to escape as well. Furthermore, he also says that it will cause allergens and pollens. Dust particles will be allowed in the air. The lecture is pointing a hole in author passage that they are very less effective.
Second, the reading passage mentions that Ozone-generating air purifiers will remove such harmful chemicals like an airborne and bad smell. As, provide a better environment and cleaner air. Yet, the lecturer challenges this argument by saying that it's a very dangerous and high concern for our health like create future problems like skin rashes, eyes, and lungs. He also states that it has the same effect as gasoline, the only advantage is its smell very pretty.
Finally, the reading argues that UV air purifiers will help to remove harmful bacteria especially the microscopic one. Since. the outcome will be better for the environment to live and provides clean air to the atmosphere. On the other hand, the lecturer rebuts this by explaining that it cannot purify the smells of cigarettes and smoke and cannot provide clean air. So here also the lecturer point of view is less effective against the lecturer.
Thus, there is a stark difference between the reading and the lecturer.
