Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

Newspapers and magazines are the best ways to learn about a foreign country.

Learning and knowledge is an important matter for students, professors, workers and other different groups of the society. One the most popular knowledeges among the mentioned groups is gaining information about other countries. Nowadays, there are several means of information sources. The opinion are divided as to whether magazines and newspapers are the best source of getting information about other countries or another relibale sources must be used. When it comes to me, it is my firm conviction that we need another way to obtain the information about a foreign nation. To support my idea, there are several reasons, two of which are going to be aptly explored in the following.

First and foremost, newspapers and magazines have different tendencies and we cannot trust them. The basic rule for a media is truthfulness but regrettfully, Nowdays, massmedia has deviated from its main duty, which is enlightening of humans. For example, newspapers elaborate some insignificant negative features of country or even in some cases they fabricate some unbelievable stories about other nations in order to gain their own profit. As a result, we should depend ourselves on other reliable sources, especially when we are investigating about other countries.

The second reason coming to mind is rooted in the fact that even if we consider that newspapers and magazines are unbiased, their information are really limited. They just write about some general features of a country or a nation. For instance, the newspapers devote a small column to write something about the current situation of a specific country. However, the most significant part of a nation or a foreign region is their culture and their their history which are presented in the books or reliable websites.

In brief, I believe magazines and newspapers are not the best ways for gaining our required information about other nation. Since, not only magazines and newspapers are really biased and subjective these days but also they elaborate some specific details or even fabricate some parts of their information according to their own profit. Furthermore, their informations are limited.
