The artcicle states that dowsing is useful technique for finding hidden things and support it with three reasons. However, the professor doesn't think so, she thinks that the dowsing should be evaluated using the empirical evidence.

First, the article states that dowsers are able to find out the correct location of underground water just by concerntating on certain frequencies. However, the professor thinks that such claim is not right. she thinks that it is not wise to accept such result without questions. She further states that it is against the law of physics.

Second, the article avers that dowsing tool twist and jerk or suddenly point downward indicating the place to start digging. However, to refute this claim professor states that extraordinary claims require exceptional evidence. She gives the example of the devicve used to detect unknown object to prove his point. She explains that due to weak signal it is not able to detect the object. Also she states that so it is not possible to find excat location using dowsing.

Third, the artcile states that dowsers have the skill to uncover not only water but also other objects including buried treasure, oil, or even deadbodies. However, the professor states that dowsing is just the hypothesis. The success of dowsers is just depends on random luck. He sad that dowsers work is similar as the hunching for the things. Dowsers work without conditions and sometimes it can lead to success.
