TPO 15,Cane toads
The passage is about cane toad amphibians inhabitinged in Central and South aAmerica. they were transported to aAustraliao to help agricuolture, but uonfortunatelly affected the Australian ecosystem. The author offers several solutions to control/for controlling/ the population of these animals in Australia. yet the speaker is skepticalk about theseis ideas and thinks that they are not efficient enough.
The first solution given by the author is to build a national fence. they will prevent this species to spread in the rest part of the country where they have not inhabieted yet. However, the proffessor thinks that the rivetrs and floating waters will carry out the toad's eggs. thus these feancies will be inefficient.
The second approach to reduce /meothod of diminishing / the quantity of this amphibians is human resourcies. volunteers can easily capture this animal by simple tools and kill them. Along with this, toads' eggs are very easy to destroy which is also an effective method to decriease their population. In contrast, the speaker thinks that volunteers are an uncontrolled power, and that process can cause other bad effects. For example, they can catch other amnphibians as well which are really important for the caountry nature.
The final strategy of the control over the toad population control is related to a disease-caousing virus. The scholars are involved in research where they are trying to develope a visrus which will infect this species and have a minimal effect on ?the other?. The author thinks that it is a good way to fight with this against these animals. Nonetheless, the proffessor totally refutes this method because they can affect aamerican frogs as well. it is known that these amphibians are being transferred by the animal lowers, and it is highly probabple that the transferred ones will infect the aamerican population. thus, theseis viruses are daengerous for the aamerican population as well.
In conclusion, it has to be noted that /it is eviodent that/ there is a contraudiction between the ideas presented by the author and the speaker. The author lists several solutions and believes that they are efficient. On the other hand, the professor hasve a different opinion about these ideas and castsd doubt on their success.
