TPO 22- Ethanol replacement vs. gasoline

The lecturer and the passage discusse replacing ethanol over gasoline. Although the passage claims that this replacing is not beneficial due to increase the carbon dioxide, reducing animals food and providing high cost for government, the speaker refutes this idea through a number of reasons which will be described in this report.

First and foremost, the passage points out that the ethanol whould not a helpful replacement due to the reason that it releases carnon dioxide as well as gasoline which is provide greenhouse gas as well. The speaker, in contrast, rejects this by claiming that it is true that this matter releases carbon dioxide, but this fuel is making by plants. Therefore, for having a great amount of this fuel a large number of plants should be cultivated. As a matter of fact, growing the number of plants is reducing the carbon dioxide.

Furthermore, unlike the passage which states that by producing ethanol from plants the food of other animals such as corn will be reduced, the speaker argues that this fuel is producing of cellules. The plants having this matter is not eaten by animal; thus, the producing of the ethanol is not declining the food of other species.

Finally, although the passage says that the government should be cost over 11 bilion dollars to keep the price of the ethanol as the same as gasoline, the professor disagrees by mentioning that in the future this fuel could be a strong comptetion over the gasoline due to the fact that by increasing the produce of this fuel its price would be drop. As a result, this fuel bcome more available to use by the people. He also adds that the reaserchers claim that by enhancement the production of this fuel three time greater, its cost would be droping 40 percent than before.
