In this set of material, the reading section explains some reasons to reject that line evidence on skelton of fossil dinosaur is the clue for feather, while the listening section casts doubt about the information presented in the passages and gives several reasons to prove that this evidence is the result of feather structures.

First of all, the article says that the lines in the fossil of dinosaurs are not clue of living structure in the animals. In the contrary, the professor states that these lines are the evidence of decomposition of feather in the passage of time. In fact, She believes that other fossils have been discovered which buried do not show up any evidence of line in other fossils, the volcanic ashes are clearly able to distinguish from fossil evidence. Thus, these make the strong that these lines are the result of decomposition of feather.

In addition, the professor disagrees with the idea that these lines not only are not the trace of feather but also are the clue of frills. She points out that there are huge different between chemical of feather and frills. She highlights that feather contains a kind of protein, on the other hand, frill dose not, and in the analysis of the lines composition there are trace of that protein. Hence, in light of these arguments, it is clear the lines are the evidence of feather.

Finally, although the passage asserts that these lines are located in the near of backbone and tail, the professor subscribes to the viewpoint that dinosaurs had colorful feather to attract the predators; recently, the results of analogy which conducted to them, identify that these lines were colorful, like orange and white. The results of these studies strongly support the theory that these lines were feather in the animal.
