TPO32-Odd sounds
The lecture and the passage discuss the source of some weird sounds which have been heard by russian submarines few years ago. Although the passage claims that there are some explanations for these sounds, the speaker refutes these ideas through a number of reasons which will be described in this report.
First of all, the passage points out that these sound could be generated by the whales, which are living in North Atlantic and Arctic Ocean, to appealing opposite genders. The speaker, in contrast, rejects this by claiming that despite the submarines, these whales always live near the surface water. In addition, these whales could be detectable by the submarines' sonar.
Furthermore, unlike the passage which states that these sounds might be produced by giant squid and because not having skeleton, they cannot recognize by submarines' sonar; the speaker argues that this idea is not persuamable. These creatures have always lived on those area; however, these odds sounds just have been heard for 1 decades and after that these sound have been disappeared.
Finally, although the passage says that there might be another submarine which surveying the ocean secretly without recogonizing by the Russian's submarines, the professor disagrees by mentionin that the evidence shows that the source of the sounds moved around very quickly and changed its direction in different ways. Moreover, she states that the submarines do not produce such quack sounds. She also believes that even the newest submarines cannot move as fast as this sound source.
Through the reasons which have been described above, the passage claims are rejected by the professor.
