twins studies
The reading and the lecture are both about studies made in twins. The article states that most researchers agree that nurture and nature are important in the development of personality and people’s behavior and provides a few reasons. However, the professor states that she is not convinced that the in the study of identical and fraternal twins, they share the same personality.
First, the reading states that identical twins that have the identical characteristics, frequently show a quite similar behavior and others features, even for those twins that were separated at birth. The professor refutes this point. She states that twins that show similarities in their behaviors is because they have shared a similar environment and parents have treated them with the same things, clothes, likes, and dislikes and not for sharing genes. She adds that any personality could be by environment rather than genetic.
