tpo 19 Summarise the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they case doubt on specific points made in the reading passage.

Both the reading and the lecture are about the buzzing, which is a new tactic of advertising. People who advertise are called buzzers. The reading passage claims that many critics would like to see it stopped. As opposed to, the speaker, who is already a buzzer disagrees with reading's reasons of why buzzing should be banned.

First and foremost, the writer points out that critics complain that customers should know about the person, who is praising the product that is paid to advertise that item. In addition, knowing is very important, because people would expect the truth from people who they believe are trustworthy. On the contrary, the speaker cannot disagree more with this viewpoint, he said that it is true that he get paid from the company, but that does not mean that he lies when promoting the product. Therefore, he thinks the claim is misleading.

The second argument the author gives is that buzzers pretend that they are private individuals, so that consumers listen to their endorsement less critically. As a result, they do not know that are lobbied, and it could harm them. However, the talker states that when people ask them, they have to know how to answer their questions. Consequently, if they do not know how to answer, then they will become suspicious about their product.

Finally, on one hand the reading suggests that buzzing is likely to be harmful to social network. Once people become aware of buzzers, they will not trust individuals in general. Therefore mistrust will be spread everywhere. On the other hand, the speaker, refutes this claim by saying that if the product do not have a good quality, then the company would not recruit buzzers to promote them at all. Therefore, this view is not convincing.

In conclusion, the reading's points are contrasted by the speaker.
