The diagrams illustrate the percentage of government spending on the Arts and the figure for people taking part in Arts events in 1995 and 2005.
A cursory glance at the diagrams is enough to make it clear that throughout the given years, the number of people partaking in Arts Events saw an upward trend, except for the visual arts.
According to the pie charts, in 1995m the amount of money invested in visual arts accounted for nearly a quarter. However, in 2005, this amount halved. Meanwhile, there witnessed a slight increase in the percentage of the government’s fund spent on literature between 1995 and 2005, which was nearly 15%. Besides, in 1995, music occupied approximately half of the total amount of money the government allocated for the Arts. Nevertheless, this rate declined to more than a third in 2005. In contrast, the proportion of money paid on theatre by government underwent a dramatic growth from nearly a fifth to roughly 40%.
As can be seen from the bar chart, both in two given years, the number of people taking part in music events was the highest. To be more specific, there were over 100,000 people involving in music events in 1995. After this year, this number experienced a considerable increase and reached to 150,000 in 2005. On the contrary, in 1995, there were 50,000 people participating in visual art events in 1995. Subsequently, this figure decreased minimally in 2005. Another thing to add is that the figure for people joining in theatre as well as literature events undertook a margin escalation over the period from 1995 to 2005.
