The two tables reveal the data regarding to the sales of Fairtrade-labelled coffee and bananas in 1999 and 2004 in five European nations. Overall, it is conspicuous that the sales of both coffee and bananas had increased over the five year except those of bananas in Sweden and Denmark.

In terms of the sales of coffee among the five countries, the rising on earning in UK was the most dramatic from 1.5 millions of euros in 1999 to 20 millions in 2004. Followed by Switzerland, its sales doubled, starting at 3 millions and ending at 6 millions over the period. By comparison, the increasing was less significant in Belgium, only reporting 0.7 millions. However, the minimum gaps were in Denmark and Sweden (0.2 millions), and the sales at last were 2 millions and 1 millions respectively.

As to the trading patterns about bananas, things are different compared with coffee, with three nations showing increasing trends but two reporting falls. Among all countries, Switzerland always ranked at the top no matter in 1999 (15 millions of euros) or in 2004 (47 millions of euros).
