You have had a bank account for a few years. Recently you received a letter from the bank stating that your account is $240 overdrawn and that you will be charged $70 which will be taken directly from your account. You know that this information is incorrect

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to convey my disappointment regarding a fine of $70 due to excessive withdrawal of $240 from my account.

Let me explain to you in more detail. I withdrew a total of $300 after looking at my bank account online where it stated that I have got my salary in my account. It's very obvious that a customer won't be able to withdraw the cash through the ATM machine if he/she doesn’t have money in a bank account. As my account was already credited; therefore, it allows me to withdraw the above-mentioned cash otherwise, I could have the error of insufficient balance.

I believe, it’s your internal error as my salary was updated online, whereas the software didn’t update the transaction in the system, as a result, the recovery team get the notification through system of over drawer, and they decided to sent me a letter per the bank’s policy to notify the customer with charges.

As it’s clearly a bank’s mistake, so I would request you to please notify your recovery department to withdraw the letter, and make sure to update my account in the system to avoid such confusion in the future.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best Regards,
