Internet boom in the last decade has changed the way we live our lives to a great extent. Calling a friend on landline to a confrence video call on facetime with bunch of friends and writing a letter on paper to using a qwerty keypad to write a letter, we have come wat too far. One such invasion of the internet is being seen in education sector as well where many universities and colleges have now begun offering courses online. Some people are of opinion that offering such facilities by univerisity is a boon whereas others assert that its a bane. In my opinion, I mostly agree with the group that see online courses offered by educational institutions with a positive outlook. I believe this for two reasons.

Firstly, online courses increases the reach of courses offered by universities. Now a persons sitting in remote areas like antartica can enroll for the online courses of their choices offered by universties present in somewhat metropolitian countries like canada or USA. This enhanced reach of accessing lectures from any where in the world is beneficial for both univerisites and for students alike. Increase in university enrollment means greater sum of tution fees collected which can be spent in making more such kind of courses, research and developement etc.. At the same time online courses takes away headache of being physically present at class at a given specific time. Indian Institute of technology assert that average GPA of students in engineering departments increased from 2.8 to 3.2 after introduction of online courses. Similar comparable results were seen in other universities as well. Researchers and data scientist accredit this surge to the fact that student who earlier used to miss lecture becuase of fixed class schedules now attended lectures according to their own time table and this attendance helped them to perform better in exam.

In addition to accessibility, online courses offers benefits to learn a concept at individual's own pace. People in traditional settings have to constantly catch up with the pace of proffessor to grasp the concept being taught, but with introduction of online courses student can view same lecture again and again on rewind untill the concepts are entirely fathomable. For instance - Imagine a student who is introvert and doesn't ask proffessor in classroom setting to explain the concept again if he struggles to understand it, then such introverts get an opportunity to just rewind the lecture playing on their computer screens rather than actually requesting proffessor for clearification. Thus people get to study at their own pace, with the setting and end environment that suits them.

However, Online courses has drwaback of taking away joy that one gets by interacting wth fellow classmates, working in group projects and assignments, and participating in group discussions in traditional classroom. Social skills that are very necessary in any job that we get after our studies, and these can only be learned by interaction with copious number of people. These skills can thus be never learned if students opts only for online courses. Moreover, doubts clearing session is tedious and byzantine in online courses than in traditional classroom lectures. In onine courses, person talks to instructor through emails, chats and video calls and finding a time to interact that suits and fits both patrties often acts as an impediment. Traditional settings on the other hand has advantage in this regard as student gets a chance to clear his doubts at an instant by raising hands or other comparable gestures.

In conclusion, online course has changes the way we study and has helped in making life's easier for many student whereas at the same time it has some drawbacks thus reaching a definite conclusion is quite cumbersome as each setting offers its own advantages and diadvantages.
