Some students prefer classes with frequent discussions between the professor and the students with almost no lectures. Other students prefer classes with many lectures and almost no discussions. Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Every student has own preferred learning style, therefore it is impossible to accommodate all of them. While some people prefer monologue classes, I go along with people who think that the best classes are those which contain many discussions. Because discussion can help us to learn more effectively and also develop other valuable skills.

It is true that during a lecture, a professor or teacher can convey a massive amount of information, but this kind of learning style is highly passive and also demands students to just memorize the materials. On the other hand, if classes provide students with opportunities to speak, we can develop our intellectual abilities. Presenting our ideas and criticizing the opinions of our peers will push them to think and analyze the topics carefully. This deepens the process of learning and not only ingrain the subjects in our long-term memory but help us grow academically, as well. My own experience is a compelling example of this. All my courses, during my studies at university, were lecture-based except political science. In that special course, the professor always gave us a brief introduction to contrary political beliefs and their underlying foundations and then asked us to discuss their pros and cons. Although my major is not political science and it backs to several years ago, thanks to learning style, now, I can remember all those materials. As a result, discussion during a class would be dramatically beneficial in educational cases.

Furthermore, classes that involve students in a lot of interactions could improve their other skills. Public speaking, for example, is an invaluable ability that could be developed during simple but numerous discussions in classrooms. Similarly, being capable of criticizing others politely and effectively can be achieved by participating in spirited discussions. One of my friends is a piece of convincing evidence for this. When he started his academic life, he was a very shy and introverted person. But, gradually, I could see that he would join class discussions and express his opinion overtly. His progress was continuing until he reached his triumph and gave a speech at our graduation ceremony. Now, he is the CEO of a respected public company and speaking in public is an inseparable part of his career. Thus, had he not have those discussions in classes, he would never have reached such a success.

In conclusion, I argue in favor of the opinion that discussion-based classes are superior to lecture-based ones. Because we can absorb information deeply and enhance our other skills like public speaking.

---------------------
Better to have 5 paragraphs with 3 arguments. And try always support/against one side but compare two sides, like this:

para 1: introduction
para 2: reason 1. address both of the views presented for reason 1
para 3: reason 2. address both of the views presented for reason 2
para 4: reason 3. address both of the views presented for reason 3
para 5: conclusion.

So how to find out those reasons. There is a formula:

reasons == advantages or

reasons == disadvantages

for example, we can always apply 'save time', 'save/make money', 'find a job', 'make friends', 'get more information' as reasons to all essay/speaking topics.

or we can apply 'waste time', 'waste money', 'no job', 'make bad friends', 'get bad information' as reasons to all essay/speaking topics.
