New business owner should check own business or join franchise

Essay topics:

New business owner should check own business or join franchise.

The article is about the owning business, here the author states that it is better to take license of franchise, and do that business instead of owning own business because that would be less risky and more beneficial and to explain that author stated some of his points in below paragraphs. However the professor sees flaws in each paragraph and disagrees with that and stated owning own business is more beneficial.

To begin with, the author stated that first time business owner find difficulty in setting up business, and collecting materials, equipment. So, to avoid management they should work in franchise where everything is fixed. So, in this opinion, the professor finds flaws and explained that franchise has fixed good and shop where the company has to buy, but these good are overpriced. Also, if the owner find the same material in cheaper price they are not allow to buy from there. So, this causes loss to owner.

To move on the another reason author support franchise, advertisement. The author states that new business need to advertise for their product, and these franchise already does that. The professor again disagrees with this point and stated that although it is true that franchise do advertise but they take 6% from the owner, which is a lot money. The professor further added that they advertise their company product and this causes little benefit. Instead if person advertise for own business that would be less costly and advertise own business.

The another point made by author is that franchise offer more security than an independent business as starting few years have high chances for failure. In this the professor agrees that indeed independent businesses have chances of failure but owning a franchise is also not the solution. The person can buy the already existing business from previous owner, and that would be more beneficial rather than working in franchise.
