The passage reading proposes some benefits that can be gained from replacing papers by electronic databases in sotageing medical records. The lecture, however, casts doubt on proposed statements and offer some counterclaims to refue them all.

First, the reading argues that elecronic databeses reduce the cost of storage due to both being space-saving and accessable without requiring paper material and printing. On the contrary, the professor is of the idea that doctors including those who have adapted electronic systems contue keeping paper records as well for they are needed in some legal protocols and also can be considered a good backup; therefore, most of the doctors would have to pay for both methods which makes the method not effective and economical.

Next, the passage mentions that electronic databases prevent harmful consequenses of medical errores that are causes by unstandared storage methods, vague handwritings, and other man-made errors. In contrast, the lecturer highlights the fact that since doctors would still use manual trend while examining pations and office crew are people who inter information in computers, and acordingly, they may still misinterpret the word even this method does not practicaly prevents errores.

Finally, the reading states that a reach database of medical records can be very helpful in research that is not feasible while using paper method. Conversely, the speaker dismisses the claim due to the fact that difficalt and coplicated procidure of accessing such data even if has been stored electronically, does not facilitize researches. In addition, she mentions that there are stict privacy regulations that are compatible with pationts’ requests and every access to data requires many permittions including that of pation’s so that researchers still have difficulty having rata.
