The pie chart below shows the main reasons why agricultural land becomes less productive. The table shows how these causes affected three regions of the world during the 1990s. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The pie chart shows different causes elements of land degradation around the world which are negatively correlated with a negative effect on agriculture’s productions, while the table illustrates the total proportions of the degraded land in three regions ( North America, Europe and Oceania) in the 1990s.

Overall, over-grazing and deforestation occupied the highest proportion as the causes elements comparing with the other remaining elements. Furthermore, Europe has the largest percentage of causes element which is approximately double the percentage in Oceania and just under five times the proportion in N.A.

Initially, over-grazing occurred 33 percent, while the other deforestation and over-cultivation caused 30 percent and 28% respectively. Additionally, there was seven percent affected by other elements.

Regarding the table, although Oceania recorded 13 percent in total land degraded, but there was no over-cultivation action during mentioned period. North America caused just 0.2%by deforestation and 5% as a total. Finally, the worst situation was in Europe as there was 23% a total affect which effected by deforestation, over-cultivation and over-grazing with 9.8%, 7.7% and 5.5% respectively,
