The author discusses several possibilities that might casue the presence of silver coin as fake historical evidence of connection between norse and Native Americans a thousands years ago. However, the lecturer casts doubt on the reasons made in the article. she mentions that it is a genuine evidence.

The writer explains that there is a great distance between coin site ,called maine, and the main norse settlement in Canada. The professor challenges this reason by saying that a lot of other objects have been found in the maine area which are from distant places. Furthermore, maine people could travel to far areas and they might reach the norse settlement in the easthern Canad.

Second, the passage states that no other coins have been discovered there. The lecturer challenges the reason and says that coins were valuable possession for the norse and they resided in the maine area for a short period. Thus they packed up all the valuable things such as coins and the discovered one has remained there by accident.

Third, the author avers that European silver coins did not have any perfomance in the America regions and its presence is not reasonbile. In contrast, she refutes this possibility. she claims that the coins might have other application in that area such as ornaments or jewelry because of their unusual and attractive appearance.
