To begin with, the author argues that ancient Greeks were not technologically advanced to make that big mirror. The article mentions that the technology of producing a large sheet of copper with specific requirements did not exist then. This specific argument is challenged by the lecturer. He feels that they did not need large copper to make the mirror. Additionally, he said that they needed only small pieces of copper.
Secondly, the writer suggests that it should take a long time to set the fire of the ships. In the article, it is mentioned that it required 10 minutes to collect the rays on a wooden target on 30 meters distance while the object is moving.
